Carole Caauwe has been scanning again, and sent several nice additions. Here they are:
This is a new picture (at least to me) of Asborg Oline Thygesen Nelson. I like it very much.
Does anyone see a resemblance to her mother Mariken?
The Nelson family ... or at least part of it. Besides Asborg, to her left, is her eldest son Lewis Nelson, and next to him are A.G. Nelson and wife. To Asborg's right are Nils Nelson Gunderson and his wife. Tell me if I'm in error, and help with the others. See Nathan's comment. He believes that the three women in the front are (from the L) Emma, Martha and Mina

These are some great photos! The family photo is very interesting, I only wish more of the faces were clearly visible. I believe that the three women sitting at the bottom of the photo are (from left to right) Asborg's daughters Emma, Martha and Mina.
ReplyDeleteAre there any ideas of when this photo might have been taken? Also, anyone know the house where this is taken? From the porch columns it looks like the same home that the large family photo was taken (the one on the Knud Thygsen page). Would be interested as to whose home this was and if it is still standing in Kasson.
Thanks Nathan. Good questions, for which I don't know the answer. I think that the question of whether the main Nelson home is still standing in Kasson is especially interesting. I'm not sure how many of you have visited Kasson. I'll put up a page with the photos I have taken. It would be great if we could be im contact with a cousin (or any knowledgeable person) who is still living in the Kasson area.
