Updates and Questions

I have been thinking about ways to improve the blog.  I enlarged the text space, to use more of the screen, but am not sure there is an improvement.  One problem has been the size of the font, and I'm still trying to make it more legible (i.e. larger).  This post is partly an experiment to see if I can get a suitably readable font.   Another goal is trying to get more participation and input from others.  I've become aware of impressive blogs by several cousins, and plan to post URLs to take anybody interested to those sites.  We are also at the point where there is quite a bit of new information to share about the generations after the immigrant generation.  I hesitate to put up information about the other families without persons from those families doing it, or at least agreeing with the content.  I have recently created second pages for the four Thygesen lines, and put simple trees for the four childrens of Ole and Petra.

Yvonne Morehouse has suggested that we make an effort to create and present videos of important locations, meeting and people.  This Spring, if it ever comes. I will try to get better documentation of the original immigrants first farms.  We keep trying to locate the original Nelson family homes in Kasson.  We have a number of family trees on Ancestry.com, and it would be possible to give access to them for anyone who is interested.  This is possible to do for persons who are not, and do not need/want to be on Ancestry, without incurring any costs.

Let me know about any other ideas or requests.   My email address is mfhansen@wisc.edu            Best regards and hopes for Spring.

  1. I used 'Large' font, and it seems to have worked ... without being particularly 'large'

  2. But the Comments are still in very small 'normal' font, and I've found no way to change that. Hmmm.
