If you look at the Ole & Petra Thygesen page, you will see that I expressed frustration that I had not found a lot of information following the families of their children. The impasse has been broken! A few weeks ago. I received an email from Ann Kaklamanos, who with her mother, Jean Simonson Cornwell had visited Naas and Norway last Summer, staying several days with Olaf and Carol Naas. Carol had given them my address, and told of my interest in 'finding' all the families of Asborg, Knud, Ole and Elling Thygesen. I have spoken at length with Ann and her mother, and received a very complete record of the Simonson family of Wittenberg, WI. Julia Thygesen Simonson was the daughter of Ole and Petra Thygesen, and married Martin Gregorius Simonson. Jean connected me with her cousin, Julie Lea Martinelli, who called me today. Julie has been the Simonson cousin who has worked longest on the Simonson Genealogy. On one of my earlier trips to Norway, I had been given a letter from Julie to Per Naas which she wrote in 1978! At the time, I didn't know what to do with the information ... and it took only 33 years for me to find out. It also turned out that Julie had graduated from Marshfield Senior High School nine years after I did. A very small world. Julie lives in Chicago and visits Wisconsin frequently. So ... we will shortly be able to add much new information, and welcome new cousins to the 'virtual reunion'. We now have extensive, and relatively complete information for the invitees to the reunion. I will welcome comments and questions from the rest of you. Try to recruit some more cousins. We are stuck at 20 'followers'. Welcome to the Simonsons ! We are very glad to have you joining us.
